INTENT OF THE PROCESS
The objective of this competition is to fill various vacancies at the LE-A1 and LE-A2 levels. The positions all consist of assistants in common services, consular, property and different programs at the High Commission.
When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but for future vacancies in the various programs. As positions become available, applicants who have qualified in this process may be offered employment.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Under the direction of the Common Services Officer, the Administrative Assistant (LE-A1) and Common Services Assistant (LE-A2) provides daily administrative support and services, provides, and creates information and/or documentation, provides support for ongoing program activities, responds to service requests from clients, and performs other duties as required.
Area of Selection:
This position is open to applicants who are currently residing in Bangladesh and to all mission employees occupying an indeterminate, term position or emergency position, who meet all the essential qualifications stated and whose applications are received by the closing date.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, language* and experience. Candidates must clearly demonstrate when applying to the position how they meet each of these essential qualifications. *Language will be assessed further during the process.

Fluency in English and Bengali (writing, speaking, reading)
Experience:
LE-A1
Minimum of 2 year recent* and consecutive experience in an office environment in the areas mentioned below.
• Experience in a client service position catering to internal and external clients, or with the public.
LE-A2
Minimum of 3 years recent** and consecutive experience in an office environment in the areas mentioned below.
• Experience with general administrative duties and standard office procedures.
*"Recent" experience is defined as within the last 4 years

The Rated Requirements are part of the essential qualifications and are relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies. Methods of assessment for rated requirements may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview (online pre-recorded/live or in-person), role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications.

• Work experience in a diplomatic mission and / or international organization

Experience in documentation and processing of invoices and financial claims
• Work experience in corporate finance and / or accounting
• Work experience in procurement and / or contracting.
Operational Requirements:
• Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
• Availability to work overtime - evenings, weekends if necessary - sometimes on short notice.
Conditions of Employment:
Conditions of employment must be met or complied with before being appointed to a particular position, and are to be maintained throughout the employment while being the incumbent of this position.
- Valid work authorization: Ability to obtain and hold a valid work authorization covering the entire employment period.
- Security screening: Obtain and maintain a Reliability Status (security level) which includes a criminal and credit background check from the Government of Canada covering the entire employment period.
